Sending student created picture books and educational supplies to children around the world.

Kids to Kids International is a non-profit organization providing an educational program for children to send Friendship Boxes of student-created picture books and educational supplies to children around the world since 1991. Our goal is to have our KTKI program in every school in the United States giving every student the opportunity to become aware that they can take action and that their actions can make a difference.

Pat Hosley Kibbe

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our founder Pat Kibbe on July 13, 2014. After being an actress on Radio, Broadway, and Television, Pat raised five children, published 3 children’s books and then in 1986 was inspired by children at a school where she was speaking to create what eventually became Kids to Kids International.

From that point on Pat dedicated her life’s work to helping American children create picture books to send to children all over the world in an effort to promote peace and friendship beyond our borders. “Friendship Boxes” as they are called include student created picture books, school supplies, and a disposable camera for the recipients to take photographs and send them back. Kids to Kids International has worked

Pat-Kibbe
with numerous organizations including the United Nations, AmeriCorps, the Peace Corps, and many more to distribute thousands of books and school supplies to children in refugee camps and war torn countries throughout the world.

There will be a memorial service for Pat on Thursday, July 24th at St Andrew’s Lutheran Church, 2405 Crompond Road, Yorktown Heights, at 7:00 pm. A reception at 582 Viewland Drive will follow immediately afterwards.

Kids to Kids Office Closing

Kids to Kids International is getting ready to close up the office. But this time, we’re closing for an indefinite time. Loyal volunteers are working to meet all the commitments made to KTKI members, finding ambassadors to carry student-created books on travels around the world, and seeking ways and funds to send out the books and school supplies that continue to be sent to the KTKI office. We promise we will continue until every book is sent to a child who needs that message of friendship that Pat Kibbe founded the KTKI program on. Follow us on our Facebook Page for updates on books being sent overseas: facebook.com/kidstokidsinternational.
